Who We are and What We Do

The Forty Mile Community Adult Learning Association is a registered nonprofit society. We provide non credit courses for adults, adult and family literacy programs and volunteer resources.

Our Mission

Forty Mile Community Adult Learning, (CALC), will strive to provide unbarriered local learning opportunities to adults in the County of Forty Mile.

Our Vision

Opening people's minds to life-long learning

Our Goals

We are a grassroots community-based organization funded by Alberta Advanced Education to provide, promote and increase access to foundational learning opportunities.

  1. Our learners will express an overall satisfaction with their learning opportunities.
  2. Our learners will indicate that the program/service helped them achieve their personal learning goals
  3. Programming will be provided in the following areas:

    • Adult Literacy
    • Numeracy
    • English Language Learning
    • Basic Computer Skills
    • Foundational Life Skills
  4. CALC will continue to learn and grow, always working towards offering the very best in adult education.
  5. CALC will continue to create awareness within our community regarding the changing educational needs of society.
